Starting as general merchants in a small town, the SSK family built their reputation one relationship at a time, earning trust across local markets through honesty, fairness, and hard work.

Over the decades, the family business grew from that modest beginning into a respected trading house for pulses and grains. Each generation added its own strength — discipline, foresight, and a deep understanding of India’s agricultural heartland. Our journey traces back to the bustling lanes of Raviwar Peth, Belgaum, where the foundations of our business were laid by our grandfather, inspired by the tireless efforts of our great-grandfather, Shri Shankarappa S Kattishetti, who once sold food grains on horseback, traveling from place to place to serve customers with sincerity and dedication. What began as a humble commission agency soon earned a strong reputation as one of the most reliable and trusted names in the market. Dealing in a wide range of commodities—food grains, pulses, coconut, cardamom, turmeric, and other spices—the business grew steadily on the timeless principles of hard work and honesty, values that became its defining identity.

The legacy was further strengthened by Late Shri Shivashankar S Kattishetti and Late Shri Gangadhar Kattishetti, whose stewardship preserved trust and deepened long-standing relationships within the market. Shri Sanjeev S Kattishetti transitioned the business from a commission agency to wholesale trading, marking a significant milestone in its evolution. This strategic shift enabled direct sourcing from millers across India, while reinforcing an uncompromising commitment to fine sortex-quality products. Specializing in Split Pigeon Peas (Toor Dal), Split Chickpeas (Chana Dal), Split Moong Beans (Moong dal), Red Lentils (Masoor Dal), Black Lentil (Urad Dal), Green Gram (Hari Chana), Wheat, and other select commodities. The firm emerged as a premium trading house, synonymous with purity, transparency, and long-term partnerships, serving semi-wholesalers and retailers with consistency and trust.

Today, as the torch passes to the next generation, under the leadership of Sanjeev S Kattishetti, our journey extends beyond borders through SSK Global Corp Private Limited—a venture purpose-built to focus exclusively on exports and global trade.
